I had seen this idea for a Thankful Tree before but every year I saw it, it was already some portion into the month and I didn't want to start late. This year I remembered about the Thankful Tree in time and we started ours on November 1. Casey was so great to help me cut out 120+ leaves so that we could each write on a leaf every day. I used the scrapbook paper that my Nana sends me all the time...just picked out some fun "fall color" patterns, added a couple super cute little birds, a mason jar and I think it came out super cute!
This is our tree on November 1.
It was so fun throughout the month of November to write down something we were thankful for every day. I was surprised at how much Logan and Mckayla loved it! They would often write more than one a day and would get so anxious for the next day to get to write another one. It was funny how most often Casey and I would write the exact same thing each day. It was so cool seeing the tree grow each day. It was not so fun trying to keep the cats from trying to steal leaves or eat the ruffia. Haha! I had to hide the tree in the laundry room every night.
This is our tree on November 30.
We are a blessed family and for that...I am thankful.
I can't wait to continue this tradition November 1, 2012.

It was a great idea.
