Recently I helped to co-host a baby shower for my wonderful friend Nicole who is expecting her first little girl next month. I was very excited to make this cake for my friend and was very pleased with how it came out.
Her nursery theme is Shabby Chic, as was the theme for the shower, and so that's what I aimed for with the cake decor.
I utilized the invitation that had been sent out which had the colors, paisley's, gerber daisies, etc.
I have known Nicole a whole lotta years. Way back in the day she knew me before Casey and I were married. She actually even attended our wedding reception. We lost touch for a few years in between and randomly got back in touch, have done a few years of Girls Camp together and spent a lot of time hanging out and I've loved every bit of it! I really do think she is a wonderful, fantastic lady and she is one of my dear friends. I am SO excited for her and her husband and their upcoming baby girl and I cannot wait to meet her.
Nicole had requested a lemon cake and we had lemon frosting in between the layers along with chopped fresh raspberries. It. Was. Soooo. GOOD!!! I thought it tasted good the night before and then apparently while waiting to be cut open the flavors all got really happy and it tasted even better! So lemony and fresh and then the raspberry flavor included...too bad this is a blog to read and not taste.
