Wooden Owls

I saw something very much like these on Pinterest recently. They were available to buy...and, in my opinion, for too much money. As I usually do, I thought, 'Surely I can make these.'...and I did.

I found Spalted Pecan and thought the worm holes and woodgrain could resemble owl feathering and spots. (I'm not sure I'd describing my thought very well)  In other words, I liked the wood and thought it would look great.

I love projects like this! I thought they were a lot of fun to work on and I am thrilled with the result and how they look on my wood shelf.
